Brandy Norwood covers the December 2010 issue of Upscale Magazine’s upcoming December issue.
Inside, she talks about how her shady baby daddy’s toned it down; why we won’t be seeing Sy’rai on “Brandy & Ray J” even if we hear her; why Twitter makes her cry; and why she goes so hard on “Dancing With The Stars.”
Here’s an excerpt:
“People call me a murderer, they taunt me and send pictures of cars that are basically annihilated. Every report has stated that I was not at fault. People still don’t care.”
The good news is, Brandy is rising above it to concentrate on the new album.
Hip-hop producer Bangladesh says fans should expect an organic sound from the upcoming opus.
“Well because she’s been away so long. I guess people’s attention spans are short now, and she comes from an era where music was more organic and everybody had their own sound, people were doing different things and albums were selling. So, we’re just trying to re-invent or recreate the sound and mesh the two together. What I do and what she does, I think will be up-to-date…there’s something about her tone and her vocal skills…that [people that] can really sing love her. I always wanted to work with her and she reached out to me so we’re going to make it happen.”
Brandy made her big debut on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” this week on the show’s 11th season
But “don’t believe the hype” Brandy says. This dancing thing is hard work as it’s all new to her! The 31–year-old entertainer told PEOPLE:
“I’m freaking out. Dance has never been one of my strongest points. [If] you don’t have the dance talent, you have like five people behind you making you look good. So don’t believe the hype. This is all new for me.”
Instead of back-up dancers though, Brandy is relying on her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who she says really helps her to stay on track.
“He’s hot so that helps! What’s so crazy is that Maks was born on the same day as my brother [Ray J] . . . and I’m born on the same day as his mother. So I kind of feel like we were meant to be partners and I’m meant to do this show.”

Well what on earth do we have here??? Has Paris
R&B singers (and “besties”) Kelly Rowland and Brandy hung out together Wednesday night (Aug 18) in Los Angeles and had dinner at celebrity hotspot Katsuya. And as the two were enjoying their meal, Paris Hilton spotted them and snapped a few pics of herself and Brandy before making a “grand exit” out of the restaurant hand-in-hand with the singer, who she later tweeted about: “Ran in to Brandy at Katsuya. She is such a sweet girl :)”
However we hear that this “meeting” was staged somewhat, because Paris is said to have asked Brandy & Kelly to leave the Japanese restaurant at the same time as her so that the paparazzi wouldn’t notice her with a mystery man. But whatever the case may be, you have to admit, Kelly

An international DJ -- who claims he's huge in Scandinavia -- is suing Brandy (the singer) for allegedly backing out of a deal to write and sing 32 bars worth of music ... after she accepted a check for $10,000.

The DJ behind the suit is Marc Mysterio -- who did a pretty cool remix of that "One More Time" song last year ... if you're into that sorta thing.
In a lawsuit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, Mysterio -- who reinforces the fact that he's popular in "worldwide markets" including France, the UK, Scandinavia, Italy and Benelux -- claims Brandy took the payment back in July ... but never came through with the music.
Now, Mysterio claims he's lost more than $25,000 as a result of Brandy's non-actions.
Attempts to reach Brandy for comment were unsuccessful.
