T.I. Sends Message Of Thanks & Holiday Wishes

T.I. is sending a holiday message to his fans and expressed his thanks for supporting him and his new album, No Mercy.

What up world? First off I’d like to thank everybody again for going out and supporting the “Hustle” yet again with “No Mercy” last week. I can’t say enough on how much I appreciate the support and all the positive feedback. I read so many tweets, letters, reviews and comments that spoke volumes to how much love was still out there and how much respect still exists for my art and my passion. I put so much of myself into what I do. I even read over the negative comments cuz’ that’s the kind of energy I feed off of to adjust, evolve and improve my craft until it manifests into the closest thing to perfection on the next go-round. I love hearing your opinions on what songs you like most for the next singles. We are taking all of them into consideration as we decide right now on which direction to head in. I know this seems like an unfortunate set of circumstances to endure for a career with so much potential but remember adversity builds character and character takes you places money can’t. I know what’s in store for me in the future so I ain’t trippin’ and neither should you. For now all my love and best wishes to you and yours for the holidays. Y’all hold it down out there and I’ll do the same in here. And continue to spread the word about “No Mercy” & Team T.I..

Take it light and Be Eazy,

Love – King.

T.I. Gets Emotional In Latest Letter From Jail, Drops New Album “No Mercy”

T.I. releases his latest letter from the jailhouse through his website, Trapmuzik.com in support of new album No Mercy which hit stores today.

Similair to Lil’ Wayne’s Weezy Thanx You, fans are able to keep up with T.I.P and stay updated on his letters. In this installment the southern king gets emotional, and gives a special thanks to his supporters.

“So here it is…NO MERCY, the most honest and intimate installment of my life story as promised. Hope y’all enjoy it and it lives up to the very high standards I’ve set for myself or anyone who’s to be considered one of the best.”

T.I.P confesses the difficulty in the situation he’s facing, but he lets us know that he’s growing from it all.

“I must admit it takes a lot to go through as much as I have and still keep the love in your heart and in your art. But at the end of the day, if that’s what it takes to produce the music that keeps the world of Hip-Hop evolving on it’s axis….Then even the lowest of the lows of my life was all worth it.

Thanks again for your prayers, your time and attention. And remember….It does’nt matter how long it’ll be before the next time you see me. What matters is that I’ll be a better man before that time comes. The longer I sit, the smarter I get.”

He proceeds to thank his fans, expressing his appreciation of all the letters he’s received.

“I’d like to give a very special thank you to all the fans who’ve been writing me and lifting my spirits everyday. I read all of them. Although I would never be able to write you all back…I’d like to list as many of you individually as I can and thank the others collectively.

It’s a relief to know that there still are people who see a man with a life and not just another headline in the news. Most of you sound very concerned and optimistic at the same time about my situation. Let me assure you all that I am deffenitely keeping my head up. I don’t consider myself done by far. Also many of you are convinced as I am that God has a plan for me that he’s preparing me for.”

T.I. closes by revealing his growth in personal faith, and with the release of No Mercy today, he is already thinking about his next release.

“How do you tell God Almighty that all you wanna do is LIVE LIFE ??? What if all you wanna do is be a father to your kids, a husband to your wife, and son to your mother while providing insightful motivation through music and lending a helping hand when posible to those who need it most. Well guys…That’s the topic of discussion between me and the MOST HIGH at the moment.

I’ll keep you posted on how it turns out. Who knows maybe you can look foward to hearing the dialogue between us set to music on the next album…which I’ll be announcing the official title no sooner than later. But until then, thanks again for all your understanding, love and support. Y’all take it light and be eazy.
- Love King.”

How T.I.’s Jail Time Causes Nearly $38-Million In Lost Income

How Celebrities Doing Jail Time Impact The Economy [Editorial]

Celebrities are often held to a different standard than the average person. Be it because of the role model status bestowed upon them or their larger than life personalities, a great number of people are placing a lot of expectations on them.

In the recent case of T.I. going back to jail, those expectations were shattered not only for his family but also for communities near and far due to the cancellation of his tour and the economic impact it could have.

The planned T.I. tour was allegedly sponsored by AXE for a total of 50 dates. A tour of this caliber requires tremendous logistical and financial resources that may have already been contractually engaged at the time of T.I’s arrest.

From a direct standpoint, the 50-60 people employed by the tour just lost potential income: tour managers, staff members, crew members, etc. all missed out as they cannot easily jump onto another project. At an average of $2,000 a week each, weekly payroll would stand at $100,000; therefore we are talking about $1.2 million for a 12 weeks tour.

In terms of production, vendors providing services such as light, sound, staging, video screens and catering lost contracts worth tens if not hundreds of thousands. For a small business, these contracts constitute a matter or survival or even the difference between profitability and loss for that year. A ballpark production figure for such a tour could easily amount to $2 million.

Creative consultants and design services providers may or may not have to be scrapped but the cancellation costs barely replace the income they were anticipating. Furthermore, transportation via airfare and/or tour buses would have been needed as well for the tour.

At about $7,000 a week, a 12 week tour comprised of 7 buses would cost $588,000. If we factor in 7 equipment trucks as well at a rate of $10,000 a week, another $840,000 needs to be added to the list of lost opportunities

Unfortunately, however massive those costs may prove to be, losses are not only limited to the artist and his touring team. The promoter in charge of such a tour, typically clears $50-75,000 a night or so. Using$60,000 per show as a benchmark, those 50 dates represent about $3 million in missed revenues. The venues hosting the shows also expected to make money through parking, concessions, venue rental, outsourced labor (load-in and load out), etc.

All these income streams combined easily top $200,000 per show, for a total of $10 million for all 50 concerts. However, the single biggest hit may have been to the alleged sponsor partner, AXE. According to online reports, the company signed a $10 million deal with the rapper for the tour as well as various other marketing initiatives. The deal was rescinded right after the verdict, but AXE more than likely had initiated certain expenses in connection with the tour: photoshoots, graphic design, creative input, marketing materials, etc.

All that work will have to be scrapped with no immediate celebrity replacement in sight. Teams will have to be re-assigned and the vendors AXE would have used also forfeited some potential revenue. Based on the sponsorship amount, we can estimate that AXE expected at least twice as much in terms of marketing impact, or about $20 million. AXE is now in the position of having to figure out a way to replace this amount of exposure.

Finally, another indirect but no less significant economic impact is the effect on each of the local communities the show would have visited. Local hotels that would have been booked by all the parties on the road (artist, promoter and sponsors) are missing out on that revenue.

A typical tour of this size blocks out dozens of rooms in various hotels, for an average of $20,000 a show, even on off days. Let’s add to that the hundreds of visitors from surrounding cities who would have flocked to local area hotels the night of the show. Even at a conservative estimate of 1000 visitors, 500 hotel nights would bring in about $50,000 in additional hotel revenues.

All these individuals would have pumped some money into the local economy via eating out, shopping, buying gas, etc. The local governments also miss out on local taxes generated by these visitors. Over 50 dates, the aggregate loss to those local economies could top $200,000 per show or another $10 million.

Impact Summary:

* Lost salaries $1,200,000
* Productions vendors missed revenue $ 2,000,000
* Busses and Trucks $1,600,000
* Promoters missed revenue $3,000,000
* Venues missed revenue $10,000,000
* Sponsors marketing loss $10,000,000
* Local communities unrealized income $10,0000,000
* Total $37,800,000

As demonstrated above, the economic impact (direct or indirect) of T.I.’s tour cancellation amounts to almost $40 million or about twice what T.I. stood to make. It affects communities across the country: from lost income to families, reduced profitability for small businesses and unrealized tax revenue. Unfortunately, one entertainer’s bad judgment can have repercussions that go deeper than what the casual observer can surmise.

T.I.’s recent imprisonment is just one example among many, as stories like his abound in the sports world(Michael Vick), film (Mel Gibson) and even politics. Hopefully, the perspective put forward in this opinion piece will make entertainers think twice before they act, as their actions potentially impact thousands of people and their livelihoods.

T.I. Not Allowed To Leave State Of G.A., U.S., After Prison Release

T.I.’s new terms of probation are being outlined in new court documents.

After T.I. is released from an Arkansas prison for violating terms of his probation, the Grand Hustle head’s new probation terms will be very limited.

According to TMZ, Tip will not be allowed to leave the Northern District of Georgia — Atlanta, Gainesville, Rome and Newnan — unless he can prove it’s for “verified employment within the United States” which means that he can’t leave the country.

Furthermore, T.I. will not able to drive a vehicle, own a firearm or any dangerous weapon, or “other destructive device” and must participate in a drug/alcohol testing and treatment program.

The rapper was sentenced to 11 months behind bars after testing positive for ecstasy following a routine traffic stop in L.A.

T.I. Releases Letter From Prison

Rapper T.I. released a new message from prison thanking fans for checking out the new video with him and Chris Brown and also addressing the comments “good” and “bad” made about him and his recent incarceration.

Via his Trapmuzik.com website, here’s the letter:

Thank you to all that took the time to check out my new video GET BACK UP with my homie Chris Brown. And a bigger thanks to those of you who decided to comment (good & bad). To all of you who say “He should practice what he preaches” and “How could he do something so stupid…AGAIN?” You’re absolutely right and I couldn’t agree with you more. But you know what? As history has shown us before, I find my greatest inspiration during my darkest hours.

So all fans of music, T.I. or not, should be able to agree that NO MERCY will surely be my best work yet. After all isn’t that what it’s all about? If I never went to prison, never did drugs, never f’ed up again, did everything right and never made great music….would you even care enough to comment on T.I.? Doubt it, so bear that in mind while you jump to your conclusions guys. Martin Luther King once said “Notice not the comments of your enemies but the silence of your friends.”

So although I’m still in touch…watching, reading and listening, I’m not concerned with what negative people say more than I am with what positive people don’t. Guess that’s enough for now… Love you all still, whether you still love me or not. REAL TALK!!! And I would like to give a special I LOVE U to @star_omg and @tinymajormama. – Tip

T.I.’s album title has been changed to “No Mercy” and will release Dec. 7th while he is still incarcerated.

T.I. Checks Into Prison

T.I. has officially begun his 11 month bid behind bars.

Law enforcement officials tell TMZ, that the rapper checked into the Arkansas prison where he previously incarcerated “sometime this afternoon.”

The rapper will be issued the standard prison uniform; khaki pants and a khaki shirt and will have his phone calls limited to 300 minutes a month.

As previously reported, his wife Tiny has been charged with drug possession for the ectasasy the couple was found with in L.A.

She is due for arraignment today in Beverly Hills.

T.I. Ordered To Report To Jail By November 1st

Federal authorities have ordered rapper T.I. to report directly to a federal prison in Arkansas by Nov. 1.

Once T.I. reports to prison, he will begin serving his 11 month sentence for violating his probation.

U.S. Marshal Beverly Harvard ordered today that T.I. will report to the Forrest City low-security prison where he served parts of an earlier 10-month federal weapons charge.

As previously reported, a federal judge in Atlanta sentenced the rapper this month to serve another 11 months in prison for breaking his federal probation after he was arrested Sept. 1 in Los Angeles on drug charges

T.I. Won’t Face L.A. Drug Arrest Charges

T.I. is catching a lucky break now that an L.A. County District Attorney has rejected the drug case stemming from his arrest last month.

According to TMZ, Tip won’t be prosecuted because he’s already set to serve 11 months in prison for probation violation.Additionally law enforcement sources tell TMZ that there were significant legal issues over the probable cause that led to T.I.’s arrest.

Officers claimed to smell marijuana in the rapper’s vehicle but none was ever booked into evidence.

Furthermore T.I. was reportedly pulled out of his $250,000 Maybach immediately after he made the illegal U-turn and prior to any registration check.

Reps for T.I. have yet to comment.

T.I. Sued Over “Welcome Back” Post-Prison Concert

Before T.I. is set to turn himself in to prison to serve an 11 month jail sentence, he’s facing a lawsuit from a concert promoter.

Carl D. Davis has filed a lawsuit against the rapper claiming that he spent his life savings on a planned concert to celebrate the rapper’s release from prison only to be stood up and left penniless.

Davis filed the suit in Alabama superior court and says the scheduled “Welcome Back Party” was set to take place May 28.

The lawsuit says the scheduled event was to commemorate,
“TI’s recent prison release from his felony incarceration for pleading guilty to unlawfully receiving, possessing and buying pistols, machine guns, silencers, firearms and ammunition as it relates to his probation violation of his preceding 1998 conviction for possessing crack cocaine with the intent to distribute in Cobb County, Georgia,”

In addition to T.I. he’s suing his manager Jason Geter, Grand Hustle and rapper Big Kuntry King who he says he paid $2,500 to perform.

Davis says he ultimately lost over $340,000 when T.I. took to a local radio station and said he would only attend the event and not perform.He also says he began to feel heavy stress during the ordeal resulting in chest pains, emotional distress and hospitalization.

The rapper was on probation and under house arrest at the time.

Axe Drops T.I. As Spokesman

T.I. has officially lost his gig as a spokesman for AXE body spray, just days after he was sentenced to 11 months in prison for violating the terms of his federal probation.

TMZ.com reports that AXE will “no longer feature T.I. in our promotional campaign” and has already removed the Grammy Award winning rapper from their official website.

A federal judge sentenced T.I. to 11 months in prison on Friday (October 15th), after he and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle was found to be in possession of ecstasy after a traffic stop on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles on September 1st

T.I. Gets 11 Months In Prison For Violating Probation

T.I. has had his probation revoked and was given 11 months in jail. According to tmz.com, T.I. told the judge he needed help for drug addiction and begged not to be sent back to prison.

T.I. was still on probation for federal weapons charges when he was arrested Sept. 1 on drug charges in Los Angeles. He and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, were taken into custody during a traffic stop in West Hollywood in which deputies said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana from inside the car. They were soon released on bond.

After the arrest, a U.S. probation officer alleged that T.I. committed three violations of his supervised release from prison: possessing ecstasy, testing positive for opiates and associating with a convicted felon. Pannell then ordered T.I. to appear back before him in court on Friday.

T.I Stop man from SUICIDIAL JUMPER

T.I. played a key role in talking a suicidal man off the ledge of a 22-story building in Atlanta today ... TMZ has learned.

It all went down earlier this afternoon -- when cops responded to a 911 call about a man who was threatening to jump off a building in downtown Atlanta ... the same building where the Ryan Cameron Radio Show is based.

We're told T.I. heard about the jumper on the radio -- and called Ryan Cameron to see if there was anything he could do to help out with the situation.

Ryan Cameron tells us ... he told T.I. to roll over to the building, where the rapper met with police and recorded a heartfelt video message which cops then played for the man on the roof.

We're told after the man saw T.I.'s video he agreed to step off the ledge ... and met T.I. in the lobby, where the two were able to talk things out.

Ryan Cameron also tells us that cops informed the radio station that they will not be pressing charges against the man.

Calls to T.I.'s reps have not been returned.

T.I. Gets 6 Months In Jail While Tiny Stays Home???

According to our great friends at Mediatakeout.com, supposedly, T.I. is in negotiations to accept a plea agreement that will allow his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle-Harris to remain out of prison while he will have to return to serve 6 more months.

According to a person CLOSE to TI, the rapper legal team has tentatively agreed to accept 6 MONTHS JAIL TIME. In exchange, his
wife and mother of his children, Tamkea “Tiny” Cottle will avoid ANY
PUNISHMENT.

The insider explained, “TI wants to be certain that she will remain free to raise their children. That’s his number one priority. Over his career, and even over his freedom.”

We are not 100% with this information being that T.I. did violate his probation as a convicted felon with a felony possessions of weapon charge back in 2007. 6 months just seems a little to short when the original time someone could face for the weapons charge was up to 10 years. However, this would be a great look for Tiny because who would take care of all them kids? But you know TheBoxHouston.com will keep you informed because our ear is always in the streets!

T.I. To Appear In Court On Drug Charge

'Dead and Gone' rapper T.I. has received court summons to appear in a federal court case after he was arrested earlier this month on drug charges.

The rapper and star of film 'Takers' has been ordered by US District Judge Charles Pannell Jr to appear in an Atlanta court where he will have to present a case giving reason for his probation to be upheld, according to The AP.

T.I. was arrested alongside his new wife Tameka 'Tiny' Cottle for possessing a controlled substance in Los Angeles on 1st September.

According to the report, the judicial order lists three potential violations of the rapper's parole which include "possession of ecstasy, testing positive for opiates and associating with a convicted felon".

The date for T.I.'s court appearance is yet to be decided by Pannell.

The same judge sent the rapper to prison for one year and one day in 2009 for a conviction on federal weapons charges.

Rapper T.I. sippin' on sizzurp after all!

Rapper T.I. may have been sippin' on sizzurp after all the night of his felony drug possession arrest -- because cops say dude had the main ingredient, codeine, when he was busted.

T.I.'s probation officer just filed documents in Georgia that say L.A. County Sheriff's deputies found codeine, marijuana and ecstasy in T.I.'s possession during the September 1 arrest.

As we first reported, T.I. had several Styrofoam cups in his Maybach that night (pictured above). Sizzurp -- aka codeine syrup -- is commonly served in Styrofoam cups.

The document also states that T.I. tested positive for opiates the day after the arrest, but does not name a specific drug. Neither marijuana nor ecstasy are opiates.

A week after the rapper and his wife were booked for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance – reportedly the drug Ecstasy – T.I. says he’s close to completing the album, which he put on hold to film his role in “Takers.”

Born Clifford Harris Jr., the artist also made time on Friday to visit his niece, who is receiving treatment for cancer.

“Went to see my niece in the hospital & she made my day!!! She’s fighting cancer & worried about how I’m doing,” T.I. captioned in a twitpic of the visit [see below]. “Uncle Tip rides 4u…Thru It All, No Matter What!!!”

T.I. is facing possible probation-violation charges over his arrest.

T.I. in Ice Cream Hat, True Religion Jimmy Jacket, & Maison Martin Margiela Sneakers

Rapper T.I. was seen out wearing a BBC/Ice Cream Cones and Bones sketch logo New Era fitted cap ($60), a True Religion Jimmy Jacket with an attached heather grey hoodie($268), and a pair of Maison Martin Margiela sneakers ($595). T.I has been a hot topic for the media lately but it’s good to see he is not letting that slow him down. See pics below
