Nelly Tapped To Debut Single During Pacquiao/Margarito Fight

Saint Louis Hip-Hop star Nelly has been tapped to open the highly anticipated boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito this weekend in Dallas, Texas.
Nelly has been tapped to perform his new single “Just A Dream” for the first time live, prior to the ring entrances of Pacquiao and Margarito.

“In the great tradition of major sporting events blending with superstar musical talent, this megafight is the perfect stage for a big live music performance that will result in a truly memorable event,” said HBO Sports senior vice president Mark Taffet. “We are thrilled to have the live television premiere of Nelly’s ‘Just A Dream’ as part of the Pacquiao-Margarito PPV telecast.”

The fight, which airs live on HBO PPV on November 13th, also features a 10-yard undercard welterweight fight between Philly fighter Mike Jones and Jesus Soto-Karass.
Jones recently sat down with AllHipHop.com and discussed the upcoming bout with Soto-Karass.
“I’m looking to box a little bit more. Karass is pretty much a bruiser; he likes to come straight in at you and throw a lot of punches,” Mike Jones told AllHipHop.com. “I’m going to give him angles and a good jab. We’ll see how he handles that.”

Nelly’s track “Just A Dream” is taken from his upcoming album, 5.0, which is due in stores November 15th.

Nelly Denies Dating Ashanti

Nelly recently called into a Chicago radio station, and denied ever having an official relationship with singer Ashanti.

When asked if he had broken it off with Ashanti and whetther or not they were officially dating, he said the following:

"Who said that? Well what have we always said? Of course I’m single. I’m not married, she’s not married.”

"Here’s the thing. I’ve never said I’m in a relationship, she’s never said she’s in a relationship. I don’t know where they do that at. But we’ve always admitted to being friends.”

He did have something positive to say about Ashanti:

We hang out. She’s a very sweet girl. Very pretty girl. Very talented. She does her thing as far as her career and I do my thing as far as mine."

Nelly “Like A Dream” [VIDEO]

Unless you’ve been paying close attention to his career, we haven’t heard new music from Nelly since 2005.

Yeah, we know he released his Brass Knuckles album in 2008, but we didn’t hear a single note from it, and judging from it’s poor sales, most of you didn’t hear it either.

Nelly seems to be on his way back to the top with his latest song and video “Like A Dream” from his forthcoming album. 5.0.

Nelly Responds To Slo Down, “You Don’t Rap or Write!”/ Preps New Fitness DVD

Rapper and radio host Nelly has decided to respond to former St. Lunatic member Slo Down’s allegations of under paying members in the group.

As previously reported, Slo Down claims that while Nelly was “eating,” his band mates were “snacking” and barely getting paid for their services.

“I’m leaving rap?” Nelly Tweeted. “Where did u get that from??lol”

But everything was not about clarity; Nelly took some time to promote his upcoming fitness DVD and even dropped a few behind the scenes pics for fans.
