Oprah Interviews Joseph And Katherine Jackson

The Queen of talk, Oprah Winfrey spent her weekend interviewing the parents of Michael Jackson for a segment to air on her show at a later date. We have photos of Oprah visiting Joseph and Katherine Jackson at the family compound in Encino, California inside.....

The interview focused on Michael, with Katherine talking about his life, his kids and the book she put together about his life

A sign that hangs outside the Jackson family compound.

Oprah arrives to the compound, and looks like I see Gayle King in the background.

The entry way is adorned with photos.

Oprah is great by the patriarch of the family, Joseph Jackson.

And later by Katherine Jackson.

I can't wait to find out what Oprah asks the parents of Michael Jackson.

Oprah Winfrey can add another award to her many list of accomplishments. The mogul will be presented with a Kennedy Center Honor award, which is given based on lifetime achievements. And as if that wasn’t enough, it was recently announced that President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle will be presenting the awards to honorees like Robert DeNiro and Bruce Springsteen as well as Oprah.

Oprah had this to say about receiving the honor: Read the rest of this entry »

Oprah Co. Sued for MS Discrimination

A woman who worked for Oprah Winfrey's OWN network claims she was subjected to a hostile work environment ... because she suffers from Multiple Sclerosis.

According to a lawsuit filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Catherine Dunn was an assistant at OWN beginning in August 2008.

She claims that during her time there, she was "subjected to a hostile work environment" because of her MS. She claims she was forced to take a stress leave as well of a leave of absence because her MS symptoms were exacerbated because of the workplace stress.

When she was out on leave, Dunn claims she was replaced by "a non-disabled and younger employee."

Dunn is suing for wrongful termination, among other things. She is asking for unspecified damages.

So far ... no comment from Oprah & Co.

President Obama spends 49th Birthday with Queen Oprah

His wife Michelle is on vacation in Spain – but President Barack Obama still had some A-list company as he celebrated his 49th birthday on Wednesday.

Obama paid a visit to one of his hometown's best restaurants, Graham Elliot in Chicago, with a guest list that included Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, senior adviser Valerie Jarrett and longtime pals Eric Whittaker and Marty Nesbitt.

"We were humbled and honored that the president decided to join us for dinner on such a special occasion," chef Graham Elliot tells PEOPLE. "The [restaurant] team is super-psyched we have such a foodie sitting in the White House."

Elliot, whose restaurant bills itself as Chicago's first "bistronomic" eatery that prepares updated classic American dishes, was only a little stressed about his high-profile clients – because he'd been in Los Angeles doing PR for his new FOX show, Master Chef, on which he is a judge.

"My flight was actually held up due to Air Force One landing at O'Hare, so we were racing to the restaurant to head him off," says Elliot

But the dinner was a success, and after the meal Obama visited the kitchen to thank the staff for the food.

On Thursday morning, the president was back to work, appearing at the Ford Motor Company plant in Chicago, where he told workers, "It is good to be back in Chicago. It's good to see some friendly faces, be back in the old neighborhoods."

When one member of the audience shouted "Happy Birthday" to the president, he responded, "Thank you. I’ve gotten a little more gray hair since I was last down here. But it is wonderful to be back home."

M.I.A Goes On A F-Ing Rant About Lady Gaga And Oprah

M.I.A. has been less than complimentary about popular celebrities Lady Gaga and Oprah Winfrey in a recent interview with Time Out London.

The female rapper says that she was given the "cold shoulder" by Winfrey at New York's Met Ball in May - she also said that she is not impressed with the amount of attention that Lady Gaga is receiving.

M.I.A. said: "[Oprah] made this huge speech at the ball praising Lady GaGa about how she is helping Americans to be the best of themselves. "There's millions of other Americans who represent that for me. Is [it] about numbers? About how much you're selling? Is it truly about the journey? Because [Lady GaGa's] journey isn't that difficult: to go from the f**king Upper East Side to a f**king performing arts school and onto a stage at the museum of f**king wherever. That journey's about four miles."

The controversial rapper then revealed that Oprah seemed to be angry with her and deliberately ignorning her.

She said: "Oprah seemed like she was giving me the cold shoulder. She was with [David Bowie's wife] Iman. Iman was always dancing with me, hugging and kissing me, but Oprah seemed really p*ssed off with me."

Oprah Offers Sarah Ferguson OWN Show

Oprah Winfrey, The 'Queen' of American TV, has offered the cash-strapped Duchess of York her own prime-time chat show.

A source close to Sarah Ferguson said last night: 'Oprah made the call this week. They spoke in person and, for Sarah, the offer is a ray of light at the end of a very dark tunnel.'

M.I.A. Lashes Out At Oprah & Lady Gaga

M.I.A. doesn't seem to like Lady Gaga and now, Oprah has been added to the beef list. In a recent post, she disses the Big O and Gaga. One thing everyone should know, you don't mess with M.I.A.

The 'Born Free' singer is a force to be reckoned with. At an event, she came in contact with TV diva Oprah and definitely was not feeling the mogul's cold vibes.

To make matters worse, Oprah gave a speech at the event that praised the rapper's all-time nemesis, Lady Gaga.

M.I.A. was not afraid to diss the two top women in the U.S. She had this to say about the incident:

'Oprah seemed like she was giving me the cold shoulder. She was with Iman (Bowie). Iman was always dancing with me, hugging and kissing me, but Oprah seemed really pissed off with me. Also she made this huge speech at the ball praising Lady Gaga and about how she (Lady Gaga) is helping Americans to be the best of themselves. There's millions of other Americans who represent that for me. Is (it) about numbers? About how much you're selling? Is it truly about the journey? Because (Lady Gaga's) journey isn't that difficult: to go from the f*cking Upper East Side to a f*cking performing arts school and on to a stage at the museum of f*cking wherever. That journey's about four miles.'

Teenage singer Charice gets Botox for 'Glee' debut

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino teenage singer Charice Pempengco says she prepared for her debut on the hit TV show "Glee" by getting Botox and an anti-aging procedure "to look fresh on camera."

The 18-year-old Charice, whose singing career rocketed after appearing on Ellen DeGeneres' and Oprah Winfrey's talk shows, underwent a 30-minute Thermage skin-tightening procedure and Botox to make her "naturally round face" more narrow, celebrity cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo told ABS-CBN television.

Charice, in the same interview, said last week's face makeover was part of her big preparations for her appearance on the hit show's second season. She starts filming at the end of this month.

"All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry? So of course there is tremendous pressure," Charice said.

In an earlier TV interview, she said she auditioned for "Glee" in mid-June in Los Angeles and was thankful to have been accepted.

"It's really a blessing," she said, adding she was "very proud to be an Asian, very proud to be Filipino."

On the streets of Manila on Monday, some residents who follow Charice had mixed feelings about what she did with her face.

"I think it's OK for women to have procedures done, but Charice is too young. Does she need it?" said Patricia Carpio, a 21-year-old student.

For Myrna Lumanao, a 23-year-old seller in a doughnut stall, looking natural is better. "I guess she can afford to have those procedures done because she has the money, but I wish she did not change her looks."

Born Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco and raised with her brother by a single mother, she sang in local contests and appeared on TV talent shows in the Philippines and South Korea before she got a big break on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" at age 15.

She later appeared several times on the "Oprah Winfrey Show" and credits Winfrey for helping push her career.

The Clinton's swing back at Oprah

Recently, a 'so called' guest list for Chelsea Clinton's wedding leaked. The list included Barack Obama, Oprah and etc. Well apparently the list was not legit.

From what I am now hearing, Oprah WAS NOT even invited to the wedding.

'Human Events' is reporting:
The media relations department of Harpo is a tight ship, more professionally run than the White House press office. After clearing four different screeners, a friendly publicist said that Oprah is not attending the wedding.

Was she invited? “Ms. Winfrey has not been invited to the wedding,” said a Harpo spokesperson. Ouch.

The first thing I thought when I heard this is, 'well why did a list leak with Oprah's name on it? Who would do that if she wasn't even invited?' All of a sudden I remembered that Oprah endorsed Barack Obama over Hilary for President and he won. Economists at the University of Maryland conducted a research and found that Oprah gathered Obama over a million votes in the primaries, against Hillary.

The Clinton's are known for getting revenge and holding grudges. Could they be getting revenge against the might 'O'? Well my guess is that they used that list, with Oprah's name on it to receive maximum media attention, which they DID. After that they had Oprah in a position to get revenge in the nicest way possible. They got revenge in a way where all Oprah can do is sit back and take it. The timing of this revenge is also strange. Oprah is approaching her final season for The Oprah Winfrey, her ratings are the lowest EVER, possibly due to reruns and she is in the process of launching a new endeavor, OWN.

Now watch how Oprah strikes back for the kill... Oprah will come up with a nice little spin to negative media real quick.

Oprah, The Obama's & The Clinton's unite

The guest list for Chelsea Clinton's wedding has been leaked. Apparently, Oprah & The Obama's will be present along with he Clinton's of course and all types of important people from all over the world. The wedding will also serve as a fundraiser. The wedding is sure to be a media hit. The big date is July 31, 2010.

Oprah movie in the works

Oprah Winfrey lookalikes, get ready.

Producer Larry A. Thompson is prepping a film based on the queen of talk's life, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Don't expect Winfrey to be thrilled with the honor though. Apparently, Thompson's source material is Kitty Kelley's unauthorized tell-all bio, which he optioned for six figures.

It's likely that an unknown will be tapped to play the lead, but so far Thompson, a self-described "huge fan" of Winfrey, is still shopping the project to networks.

The telefilm's air date is expected to coincide with the end of Winfrey's weekday talk show. Convenient.

Keith Olbermann wants Oprah to handle Rush Limbaugh

Keith Olbermann named Rush Limbaugh his Worst Person in the World Tuesday night for Limbaugh's comments that Oprah and President Obama only succeeded because of their race.

"These quotes speak for themselves and for a diseased and failing mind," Olbermann said introducing Limbaugh's comments.

On his radio show earlier in the day, Limbaugh said:

[Obama] wouldn't have been voted president if he weren't black. Somebody asked me over the weekend why does somebody earn a lot of money have a lot of money, because she's black. It was Oprah. No, it can't be. Yes, it is. There's a lot of guilt out there, show we're not racists, we'll make this person wealthy and big and famous and so forth.... If Obama weren't black he'd be a tour guide in Honolulu or he'd be teaching Saul Alinsky constitutional law or lecturing on it in Chicago.

"It's naked ugly racism, it is the distillation of Rush Limbaugh's ugly view of our country," Olbermann said.

He ended with a plea to the queen of daytime talk: "Oprah, please crush this schmuck!"

Oprah gives staffers hefty cash sum

Don’t read this if you hate your job.

Staffers at Oprah Winfrey’s O Magazine just received one of the sweetest bonuses known to man. To mark then ten-year anniversary of O, the talk show queen gave every one of her staffers an Apple iPad, a leather case engraved with the staffer’s initials and a check for $10,000.

A spokeswoman for Hearst, the publisher of O, said they were “personal gifts to the staff from Oprah to thank them for their hard work and dedication to the magazine.” All staffers received the gift, regardless of how long they had worked there.

The hefty gift resembled some of Oprah’s previous giveaways, including a car giveaway in 2004 to every single member of her audience and all-expenses-paid vacations for her staff to exotic locales like the Mediterranean and Hawaii.

Oprah taps Jenny McCarthy for development deal

Jenny McCarthy has signed a deal to develop her own television program with the Queen of all Media. "We do not have anyone taking over for Oprah," a HARPO spokesperson told the New York Post. " We do have a development deal with Jenny McCarthy. We are exploring possibilities across a number of platforms." The content of McCarthy's program has not been released, but is said to not be a carbon copy of Oprah's current talk show. Oprah's show is set to go off air next year. There is no word on whether McCarthy's program will take Oprah's time slot or air on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network), set to kickoff January 1, 2011.
