There was definitely a reason to celebrate at yesterday’s Essence Fierce and Fabulous Luncheon in NYC. The magazine brought together some of the most influential African American women of today to honor 40 individuals who have continued to inspire and pave the way for others.
Honorees included the likes of Ntozake Shange (writer of the play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf), Diahann Carroll, supermodel Naomi Campbell, Anika Noni Rose, Kerry Washington, Erica and Tina Campbell of Mary Mary, and Wendy Williams, among others. The event was attended by Gabrielle Union, Traci Ellis Ross, La La Vazquez and more. See pictures from the luncheon below and congratulations to all of the women.
