Kimora Lee Simmons is heading into fall fashion season with one less clothing line: the former model is parting ways with the parent company for Baby Phat, Kellwood, as of September 1.
Simmons, who has worked on the brand for more than a decade, told E! Online, “It's time for me to move on and further expand my other businesses and create a new phenomenon.”
Much to the dismay of her Twitter followers, it looks as though Baby Phat also won’t have a fall fashion show, which Simmons noted wasn’t her decision. But as she states on her Twitter feed, the mom of three isn't going to let this sartorial split slow “Team Fabulosity” down.
Simmons still has three other labels - KLS collection, Kouture by Kimora and Fabulosity - in addition to other ventures, like fragrances. To top it off, she’s also shooting the fourth season of her Style Network reality show, “Life in the Fab Lane."
"My inspiration has always come from the fabulous women who have been with me through the years as we've grown from young party girls to power players,” Simmons told E!. “We're ready for our next journey together and we're taking a whole new generation of incredible young women with us.”
