Ice-T just found himself on the wrong side of law and order.

The actor-rapper was busted this morning in New York City for a driving offense, E! News has learned.

A spokesman for the New York Police Department confirmed that Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit star was pulled over in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan after officers noticed he wasn't wearing a seatbelt. A quick computer check revealed that Ice-T had been driving with a suspended license after failing to renew his insurance.

He was taken into custody, booked at a nearby precinct and released shortly thereafter.

"He likely will receive a desk appearance ticket where he'll have to appear in court at a later date," said the NYPD public information officer.

Just before being collared, both the hip-hopster and his buxom wife, Coco, tweeted about taking their pet bulldog to the vet for a knee operation.

No word if the dog made it. A rep for Ice-T was unavailable for comment.
