Largest Million Dollar Gold Coin on the Planet

The largest gold coin on the planet, a 2007 Royal Canadian Mint 1 million dollar piece, is set to be auctioned off at Vienna’s Dorotheum in Austria on June 25th. Measuring 23 inches in diameter with a thickness of one inch, the Guinness Book record breaking coin is made of 99.999 percent pure gold and has a weight of 220 pounds. One side of the gold bullion coin displays the face of Queen Elisabeth II while the other presents Canadian maple leaf symbols. Although it has a face value of 1 million dollars, the solid gold coin is expected to be sold at a much higher price point.
