Chris Brown Talks Canceled Usher Tour, Fake Industry Friends and More with Angie Martinez

Chris Brown hit up the Angie Martinez show on Hot 97 Wednesday (Oct 6) and sat down for a pretty in-depth interview!

The R&B/Pop superstar discussed a number of hot topics, including the canceled joint tour with Usher, why he doesn’t have many “industry friends,” what it was like dating following the Rihanna incident and tons more. Definitely an interesting interview to say the least!

Peep the full thing by clicking below:

On the canceled Usher tour:

“We kinda had different views on the tour—no beef. We both have two different promoters, so whoever would get the tour would have to work it out and I think they didn’t see eye to eye. I think we rushed into it. We were in love with the idea more than the actual [business part of it]. We couldn’t get ready for it. Hopefully in the future, we might work something out.”

On why he keeps a small circle of friends:

“It’s whatever, we cool. I’m cordial and that’s with everybody. I don’t have friends in this industry. I have my circle and I have my people who’ve been with me through the bad times and the good times. Everybody else is just wallpaper.”

On people running to be his friend after the success of “Deuces”:

“I wasn’t like bitter. Now I see you for you. Get your money, do you. We can be cordial, we can be cool. Other than that, I don’t need to be your homie, like we don’t gotta go hang out. I kinda just got a gauge of who was there and who wasn’t, so now I know who I can deal with. There’s people in my phone I’ll call and they’re my homies. I don’t need no more friends. Oh, you need me to do something for you? Holla at my manager.”

His message to his so-called “friends” who left him hanging after the Rihanna incident:

“Kick some rocks.”

On his F.A.M.E. tattoo:

Fame is Forgiving. All. My. Enemies. Fame is what I’m doing for fame for my fans for being the inspiration & everything. The tattoo was actually first then I had to think about it and said I wanna do this for my album. What I look at it like from my experience personally, and looking at everyone else’s experiences dealing with the industry/music industry. I think people build you up, to break you down, to build you back up again. So I think with that is, it’s all about forgiving and being more positive.

On dating girls (after the Rihanna incident) who only wanted to get their shine on:

Nah, it’s no boo. It was a couple of them but I can’t give them no more publicity now. I think they in it for the WRONG reasons. Yeah, so we are gonna go ahead and be steady focused on this music… They got their 15mins so it’s cool.

chris brown crawl Chris Brown Talks New Album, Deuces (Remix) & More

Chris Brown took to UStream last night to share details about his forthcoming album ‘F.A.M.E’ with his legion of fans.

On the back of his chart-topping success with ‘Deuces’, the re-ascending star revealed that a A-list remix of the cut is set to feature on the LP. Find out who’ll be featuring, as well as many other details on the album, below…

Via MTV:

During a chat with fans on Ustream on Monday night, Brown spoke about the upcoming remix and his next album, F.A.M.E.

“I’mma let ya’ll know a little secret,” Brown told fans. “We got the ‘Deuces’ remix coming. ‘Deuces’ remix features myself, Fabolous, T.I., Drake, Kanye West, and AndrĂ© 3000. There you have it. My people are probably about to call me and say, ‘You weren’t suppose to tell anybody,’ but so what? I love you guys.”

The singer revealed that the remix to the kiss-off track is set to be released as soon as he receives a verse from West. “I’m actually supposed to be getting Kanye’s verse any minute now,” he explained. “I got everybody else’s very ready, so we’re waiting right now. We’re gonna put it together and have it to y’all either by next week or this week, probably Friday. I ain’t making no promises.”

In addition to treating Team Breezy to the big-time collaboration, Brown said that he will shoot a video for the remix.

Brown has been steadily releasing plenty of new music, including his pop single “Yeah 3x,” which Brown said he wrote in 15 minutes with Kevin McCall, Richgirl’s SeVen and DJ Frank E. “We actually got the beat and we did it in no time.” he said. “It was effortless. It was fun. It was sort of like when we wrote ‘Forever,’ so I hope you guys like that record. It’s more of a pop record, in the club record.”

The singer gave fans a taste of his other much talked about song “Calypso,” which may appear on the new LP.

“I wouldn’t say it’s my comeback album,” he said of F.A.M.E. “I just say it’s my album. I wouldn’t say it’s a comeback because I don’t feel like I went anywhere. I didn’t disappear. I still was in your face. But I feel like it’s a great album. It’s going to show a lot more growth and a lot more fun in music. It isn’t going to be as depressing, so to speak.” He’s also considering putting the remix to “Deuces” on the album as a bonus for fans.

Exciting stuff.

It’s great to see Chris really doing it big again these days. For not only is it a testament to the notion of everyone deserving a second chance, it also underlines the fact that true talent always prevails. Bring on the album!

Smash.In.Waiting!

The Urban/Dance/Pop fusion sees the 21 year old return to his former stomping ground – radio-friendly party music. With his career on the rise again (see: Takers, Deuces) and above all the song actually being solid, this stands a great chance of being that hit so many doubted he’d have again. Awesome track.

Chris Brown in Ralph Lauren Polo Dungaree Shirt

Singer Chris Brown showcased his preppy style at the John Varvatos 10th Anniversary Party  in New York City last week. He sported a Ralph Lauren Polo custom-fit Dungaree Workshirt ($125) in plaid, a contrasting striped grosgrain belt, navy blue shorts, and a pair of white low-top sneakers. The plaid Polo work-shirt is detailed with suede patches at the elbows, a suede-trimmed buttoned-flap patch pocket at the right chest, and suede-trimmed barrel cuffs. I think Chris executed the preppy look quite well. What do you think? More pics below.
